Plum Frosted Nails - Deep & Sultry

Hello, everyone!  Thursday is finally here and the end of the week is soon approaching!  I hope you are all doing well and having an amazing, easy-going week so far.  For today's post, I wanted to share one of my FAVORITE nail polishes of all time-- China Glaze's Evening Seduction (find it here).  This has been a holy-grail shade that I've been wearing for the past couple years.  It's about time it's been featured in a nail post!

Please note: This post contains affiliate links through Magic Links.

This look is very simple to achieve and uses a total of three polishes: China Glaze's Evening Seduction #256 (find it here), Elf's #25115 Enchanted and Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear #100 Invisible (find it here).  To add a different twist, I brought back this gorgeous glitter polish by Elf and added it only to the tips to give a frosted effect.  I absolutely love this Elf polish because of all shades you can pair with it...it looks great with everything!  If you remember back to my Coral & White Nail Look post, I used Enchanted there as well.

So, that's my nail look for the week.  What are you guys using?  Share it down below!  If you liked this post, please google+, comment and join this site (follow) for more.  Have an amazing day and see YOU Saturday!

 Love ya lots,
Richelle

My Weekly Obsessions - Current Read & Girly Necessities!

Hello, everyone!  Welcome to My Weekly Obsessions, featuring a few of my favorite go-to items at the moment.  Occasionally, I will do these posts to share non-beauty related pieces or products that weren't previous mentioned in a monthly favorites.  I thought this would be a fun way to talk about some bits and pieces that I've been loving.  Let's get into it!

There are five items that I wanted to share.. all kinda random, so bare with me!

1. Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban, J.K. Rowling -- my current read! It's so good!

2. Fuzzy Socks, Forever 21 -- Part of my last Forever 21 Haul

3.  Organic Coconut Oil by Spectrum (find it here) -- Using as hair treatment and body moisturizer

4.  EOS Lip Balm in Mint (find it here)  -- Love the sweet minty smell & packaging!

Please note: This post contains affiliate links through Magic Links.

Those are my current obsessions that can even be used all at once!  If I want some extra pampering, I'll do a Coconut Oil Hair Treatment and paint my nails while I wait.  Then I'll slip on these cozy socks and take my book over to the couch.  And of course, you don't need a reason to apply more lip balm!  EOS balm in Sweet Mint turned into a quick favorite that it's over halfway gone... you may see it in an Empties Post down the road!

After reading about my current obsessions, I'd love to hear some of yours.  Share them down below!  If you liked this post, please google+, comment and join this site (follow) for more.  *HINT: You may see more of this China Glaze polish in the near future ;)  Have a great day and see YOU Thursday!

 Love ya lots,
Richelle

Simple Sunday - Coconuts, Filming & Delicious Paczkis

Hello, everyone... Happy Sweet Ole Sunday!  Thanks for joining me for another Simple Sunday and for today's post, I'm literally taking you along with me on my day!  There's some work to be done, but for the most part it's a relaxing laid-back day.  Come along with me!

Busy filming for a few hours this morning into the afternoon.  New Subscription
Service Unboxing and Sephora/QVC Haul videos & post coming soon!  Nala was
a great filming buddy!
The filming aftermath... what a scary mess!  Good thing Aurora was there to
help :)
My new concoction, a sweet tropical drink with fresh coconut and blended fruit
juices.  Totally refreshing & quilt-free!  This may be a new favorite!
Blueberry Paczkis---a very special dessert for us tonight.  The blueberry ones
are Paul's favorite :)  These are so delicious, but so bad to your diet.. good thing I only get them once a year!
We're off to pick up my favorite pizza and breadsticks then watch The Matrix.  I've never seen these movies before, so I rented the entire trilogy.  Paul couldn't believe I never saw these "classics" he calls them.  That's how we're spending our evening!

How was your Sunday?  What have you been up to?  Share it down below!  I hope you enjoyed this post and all its randoness.. it's sometimes bond to happen on these Simple Sunday posts.  That's one of the reasons I love them so much.  If you liked this post, please google+, comment and join this site (follow) for more :)  Have a great day and see YOU Tuesday!

Healthy Hair #1 Tip + DIY Treatment with Results

Hello, everyone!  Happy Thursday and welcome back to another post :)  Today I am sharing with you one of my favorite tips for promoting healthy hair.  Lately, my hair definitely hasn't felt or looked its best from this harsh winter.  My ends were VERY dry, damaged and noticeably splitting as you'll see in my closeup 'before' pictures.  In efforts to hydrate my hair and make it more manageable, I turned to hairs' best friend: Coconut Oil.

Onto Soft, Healthy Hair! Let's Get Started!

For this treatment all you need is Organic Coconut Oil (best bulk buy here) that is easily found at most grocery stores near the olive and vegetable oils.  Take 1-2Tbsp (depending on how long or thick your hair is) into a microwave-safe dish and microwave on high for about 20 seconds or until melted.  Once melted, I prefer working in small sections starting at the ends (generously!) and working upwards.  Then wrap it into a high bun and leave it for at least a few hours.  When you're ready, wash it out!  NOTE: You may have to shampoo twice to get the oily residue out.

Please note: This post contains affiliate links through Magic Links.

Now that you've seen the best and WORST of my hair, I hope we can be friends!  If you want to help give life back into your hair, consider giving coconut oil a try!  When I'm good, I do this treatment 1-2 times a month.  However, I was bad and hadn't done it for some time so I actually had some scary 'before' pictures for you!  What tips do you have for healthy hair?  If you liked this post, please google+, comment and join this site (follow) for more :)  Have a great day and see YOU Saturday!

 Love ya lots,
Richelle

Mini Vanity Tour - BEFORE - Organizing Ideas

Hello, everyone!  I hope all had an amazing weekend!  Today, I want to show a Mini Vanity Tour.  "Before" is in the title because over the next few months I am buying new organizers and other new pieces to give it a face lift.  I figured it would be best to show you how it is now before I change it up.

This is the first time that I've owned a vanity and I'm not sure how I ever lived without one!  I love having my girly space!  In case you're wondering, my vanity is actually a vintage desk and a garage sale find--I literally paid $15!  As for the chair, it was an old worn piece that I repainted white and distressed.  I've been able to do this on a budget and had so much fun putting this together!

*Let's get into it!  Below are overview pictures as well as the inside of each of the 4 total drawers.

*Tabletop view- holds mirror, go-to hair products & makeup brushes inside mason jars.
*Black stand (thrift store find): holds homemade earring organizer, acrylic lipstick
holder (Amazon) and sprays. Ceramic birds & silver serving tray are also from Amazon.
Drawer #1 (Top left): Holds skincare items and most everyday makeup and palettes.
Drawer #2: Contains my jewelry box, nail polish and manicure tools/etc.
*Wooden crates can be found at Jo-Ann Fabrics or Michaels and stained.
Drawer #3 (located on right above chair): holds essential oils, brush holders and
molds that I use for homemade lotion bars.
Drawer #4 (last & largest): All makeup bags, waxing set, foam rollers and natural
beauty product ingredients such as Shea Butter/ Almond Oil, etc.

I hope you enjoyed and found this helpful.  Do use a vanity?  How do you organize your beauty collection?  Share down below!  If you liked this post, please google+, comment and join this site (follow) for more :)  Have a great day and see YOU Thursday!

 Love ya lots,
Richelle

Simple Sunday - Frosty Day Trip in Frankenmuth

Hello, everyone!  Thanks for joining me for Simple Sunday, my favorite weekly post.  Today, I want to share our day trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan on Valentine's Day.  Paul and I's good friends came with us and we made a whole day of it.  It's very picture-based because otherwise this post would turn into a mile long... and I have many to show you!  Quick note, Frankenmuth is a popular small town in Michigan and it's known for their famous Chicken Dinners and shopping.  I hope you enjoy!

At Zehnder's Restaurant for their famous all-you-can eat chicken dinners.
Their food is amazing and tastes so fresh & homemade.
My first plate!  So delicious... this is already making me miss this place!  My
favorite dish here is actually their Apple-Cranberry Relish next to the chicken; it's
to die for!
Off shopping!  One of the best shops, Bead Haven a huge bead store.  This isn't
half of it!  Very cool, you can buy items by the piece.  Hi, Alyssia!
More shops below the main restaurants... full of gifts, toys and homemade treats.
Dave can't help himself and wants to touch everything...Good thing for signs!
Paul and I in a beautiful store: The Beer & Wine Shoppe.  We left with amazing Traverse
Sweet Red wine.  Thanks Babe!  Can't forget to have a glass of wine with your Valentine :)
Gorgeous front display walking into the Beer & Wine Shoppe!  Full of beer and wine from small wineries and breweries in the area.  Just had to stop for a photo!

Well, if you're still with me--THANKS for continuing to read!  Frankenmuth is definitely a favorite place of mine.  Where is your favorite day trip?  If you liked this post, please google+, comment and join this site (follow) for more :)  Have an amazing rest of your weekend and a great new week!  See ya Tuesday!

Love ya lots,

OOTD - Cozy with Coach

Hello, everyone!  Here again with another post :)  Today, I wanted to share an Outfit of the Day featuring some of my favorite pieces of the season.  There's a mix of brands, but for the most part there's Coach, Forever 21 and J. Crew.  I was in a complete fight with lighting--everyday is so gloomy--so, that's why I finally went outside.  Froze my butt off, but got the photo I needed!

Starting with the clothing, my yellow sweater is from J. Crew and skinny jeans from Forever 21... just your basic casual staples.  You may recognize the pink fringe scarf since it was part of my last haul from Forever 21 and you may visit that HERE.  I love how flowy and warm it is even though it's lightweight.  The two key showstoppers are definitely from Coach, the Signature Black Shopper Tote and the matching black shoes!  I no longer buy Coach products because I can't stand that they are made in China considering the prices they charge.  HOWEVER, this handbag holds a special place in my heart.  This was the first designer purchase I made over five years ago now and will most likely hold on to it forever!  The bag has probably been discontinued, but the shoes are from DSW, so you might be able to still get them.  They're very comfortable!

I hope you liked this OOTD!  What are some of your current wardrobe go-tos?  Thanks so much for popping in and reading.  Please google+, comment and follow this blog for more :)  Have an amazing day and see YOU Saturday with a new NYX Cosmetics review video/post!

Love ya lots,
Richelle

Valentine's Day Nail Look - Red & Roses

Hello, Everyone!  Happy Tuesday!  Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so I wanted to share a new nail look that was inspired by this love obsessed holiday.  Of course, the base of this is a classic red... could we really have it any other way?

I created this new combo with the thought of Valentine's Day in mind, but this can be truly worn for any occasion---that's the beauty of red.  When in doubt, choose red!  I used Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in #07 Cherry Red and #100 Invisible, which I use as my glossy top coat.  #07 is the perfect ideal red that suits everyone.  I also wanted to add, that I LOVE this topcoat!  For how inexpensive this line is, I am impressed time and time again.  I've tried others and I always come back to this one!  It's definitely a favorite product of mine.

The rose nail art on my ring and thumb nails are sticker decals that I've owned for ages.  I'm pretty sure I originally got them at Ulta, but I know Target sells similar sets as well.  I'm finally running low on decals, so I can buy more without feeling guilty!  I love the look of adding a few accents to my nails... makes it look so much more unique and fun!

I hope you enjoyed this new nail look, regardless if you celebrate or not.  My boyfriend and I always do something for each other on my Valentine's Day.  I did want to mention, that I do love the holiday, but I believe that you shouldn't need a specific day of the year to show someone you love them---it should be that way all the time.  HOWEVER, I am a sucker and I still love going out for a nice dinner and dressing up!  I will be making homemade chocolates, chocolate covered pretzels and some other treats to surprise him.  Any of you have plans in mind?  Share them below!  If you liked this post, please google+, comment and follow this blog for more :)  Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

Love ya lots,
Richelle

Simple Sunday - Snowed In!

Hello, everyone!  Welcome back to Simple Sunday, a relaxed post about the happenings of my life in the past week.  Among the many things to occur, the major one has to do with all this snow and wild Michigan weather.  I've inserted some photos for evidence!

This poor little Bug!  I saw this car on a side street in Downtown... I can't believe how
much snow is here!  I would have cried if this was my car!!!
We received the bulk of the snow last weekend (over 8 inches), but are still dealing with the aftermath.  The rest of the week, we got more on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Through all this snow, my poor car got LOADED!  I always park on the side of the house and unfortunately, that became the drifting area.  Every gust of wind just surrounded my car with more and more snow on all sides.  Thank goodness, Paul shoveled the car out later in the week because I was finally able to leave the house!

Nala LOVES the dogs' new bed! Aurora is so sweet and sharing with her :)
Other than that, I caught up on house and work related stuff and of course, hung out with my babies.  Can't forget to talk about them!  Aurora just made her first debut in Saturday's youtube video at the end, so if you'd like to see her CLICK HERE.  I also went to dinner with my dad and brother on Tuesday and had a the delicious BBQ Chicken Hani...I wanna add :)  And it was so nice, my dad gave us my old dog's dog bed.  It's basically brand new and machine washable.  Both of my dogs destroyed their beds as puppies and never replaced them.  I think they forgot what it is!  The bed is a bit small for them and they won't lay on it... Aurora thinks it's a setup or something like she's not allowed!  It's hilarious!  However, Nala has taken it as her own and is LOVING IT!

That concludes this week's Simple Sunday and I hope my weather problems didn't bore you too much!  This post is going up a little earlier than usual because my boyfriend's best friend and wife are coming by for dinner.  We haven't seen them in ages, since he has been in the Marines and living down South.  SO HAPPY they have moved back to Michigan!  Stay tuned for Tuesday's post: Valentine's Day Inspired Nails.  If you liked this, please google+ like, comment and follow this blog for more :)  You all have a great day!

Love ya lots,
Richelle

OOTD Winter Edition - Surviving Michigan's Weather

OOTD Winter Edition - Surviving Michigan's Weather

Hello, everyone!  Thanks for joining me today for another post... I really appreciate it :)  I have an Outfit of the Day Winter Outerwear Edition to share and thought it was very fitting considering all the chilly, snowy weather we've received in the last week.  If you're not from around here, we've gotten hit with the worst snow storm so far this winter and have over 8 inches of snow that came down in less than two days.  As a type this, I have two feet long icicles dangling from my roof, my car is snowed in and its a whomping 22 degrees!

Enough with my problems... and on to this OOTD.  This peacoat is from Old Navy and it's made of a thick wool-blend that's lined and super warm.  My favorite piece of this outfit is my charcoal grey infinity scarf.  I actually crocheted it myself a few months back and I'm in love with the Lion's Brand Hometown USA yarn I chose... it's oh so cozy!  I can't believe I wasn't wearing my gloves in the photos (sorry!), but I've been wearing black Under Armour gloves that you can use on your phone.  They're the best gloves I've ever owned and keep my hands warm even though the fabric is so thin.  Other than that, you've gotta have good boots...I'm wearing Uggs, but I want to get a pair of Bogs for next winter because I think they will be much better and not get ruined in the snow.  If you're curious, the handbag I'm using the Henry Satchel by JW Hulme Co and if you click the link, I recently did a reveal post/video on this bag.

Well, that's all for today and thanks for stopping by!  I'd love to hear what the weather's like where you live, so comment down below!  If you enjoyed this post, please like, comment, and follow this blog for more :)  See you this Saturday with a new post!  Stay warm and have an amazing day!

Love ya lots,
Richelle

Tea Tuesday - Twinning's Classics Black Tea Variety Pack Review

Hello, everyone!  Today, is Tea Tuesday--one of my favorite monthly segments--where I review a particular tea.  I'm a HUGE tea enthusiast and love trying new teas, especially ones that are recommended by any of you.  If you missed the first Tea Tuesday, click HERE to see details on January's tea pick.

For February, I chose Twinning's Classics Black Tea Variety Pack (find it in bulk here), which is an amazing sampler set of their most popular black teas.  I purchased it at Meijer, my go-to grocery store for only $2.99/box.  Each box contains 20 tea bags with a total of four black tea flavors (5 bags/flavor).  This set includes English Breakfast Tea, Earl Grey Tea, Lady Grey Tea, and Irish Breakfast Tea.

Please note: This post contains affiliate links through Magic Links.

Quick Flavor Descriptions

*English Breakfast Tea:
Rich black tea taste; great for replacing your morning coffee & higher in caffeine.

*Earl Grey Tea:
Mild black tea flavor with a hint of bergamot, a citrus fruit.  Considered a lighter tea.

*Lady Grey Tea:
Fine black tea blended with bergamot, orange, and lemon.  You can really taste the dashes
of citrus and it's very one-of-a-kind flavor.

*Irish Breakfast Tea:
The strongest tea of the set and higher in caffeine.  Offers a classic earthy aroma and
very robust, full-bodied tea flavor.  Another great coffee replacement!

I absolutely LOVE this Twinning's Variety Pack and priced at just under $3, I highly recommend it to anyone!  I love all the flavors, but Lady Grey is definitely my favorite.  Depending on your mood, you have a several teas to chose from, so you can change things up a bit.  Thanks for joining me on February's Tea Tuesday!  Next Tea Tuesday will be on March 3rd...always falling on the first Tuesday of each month.  I hope you enjoyed this post and please like, comment and follow this blog for more :)  Have an amazing day and I will see YOU on Thursday with another post!

Love ya lots,
Richelle

Introducing Simple Sunday - Super Bowl Edition

Happy Happy Sunday... quick picture with Paul in between the game--of course!
Don't mind the photo edit, I couldn't help myself!
Game night fuel--not healthy in the least, but delicious!  Homemade dips by
Paul's mom and White Castle Burgers.
Super Bowl desserts included Cherry Vanilla Cupcakes and savory homemade fudge!
These are Paul's parents' pets---love them as if they were my own!  They're
constant entertainment.  Shelby is my favorite...pss don't tell! ;)
Our CRAZY snowy weather today.. the picture doesn't do it justice!  Woke up to heavy snow fall
and it never stopped all day.  So far we got over 8 inches & it's still going strong at 1am!

Hello, everyone!  Happy Super Bowl Sunday to you football fans or anyone who loves some good American food and hilarious commercials!  I want to share our day that was full of delicious food, cute pets and football.  It's also been snowing like crazy, so I'll be sure to show you some of that.  Michigan weather at its' finest!

This Sunday, Paul and I went off to his parent's house to have dinner and watch the game.  We rooted for the Seattle Seahawks--or I should say they did because my love for football goes about as far as I can throw one and it wouldn't get too far!  I just get excited about the half-time show that Katy Perry played (it was awesome, BTW), funny commercials and all the treats.  We came over with a Crave case from White Castle and I made Cherry Vanilla Cupcakes--YUM!  If you're not based in the States, Super Bowl is kinda a big deal here and there are ALWAYS amazing commercials!  My favorite was the Budweiser commercial with the beautiful Clydesdales and this adorable golden retriever puppy.  If you didn't see it, YOU SHOULD... just head to youtube and search "2015 budweiser super bowl commercial" because it's the cutest thing ever!  Promise!

Starting this Sunday, I created Simple Sunday which is my new weekly segment devoted to the Lifestyle portion of my blog.  It will be a "daily journal" of sorts that will be a casual post talking with all of you about the random happenings of our Sunday or life in general.  Paul usually works Monday through Saturday,  so Sunday is our favorite day of the week.  I will continue posting Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays with beauty and fashion related posts.  So anyways, expect a lot of me! Hahaha!

Let me know what you think of Simple Sunday! I really hope you like it... so how was your ours?  Please like, comment and follow this blog for more :) See you all Tuesday for Tea Tuesday!  Have a great day!

Love ya lots,
Richelle
