Reveal - Himalayan Rock Salt Lamps - Details & Benefits

Hello, everyone!  Back today with a reveal on a new product I've been loving.  This is actually the first time sharing a home decor item and something you guys may not know about me is that I love decorating/organizing.  It's one of my favorite things!  I wanted to show you my Himalayan Salt Lamp that was a Christmas present from Paul's grandparents.

A closeup to the lamp in natural daylight, not lit. It's a beautiful stone.

What are they?
Himalayan Salt Lamps -also called Crystal Salt Lamps- are carved from natural rock salt crystals in salt mines deep underneath the Himalayan Mountains.  These lamps are a simple design.  One large chunk of himalayan salt with a hole drilled at the bottom for the light bulb and cord.  They're known for their many health benefits (see list below) because of the negative ions the lamp emits, which lends to purifying the air in your home.

They also double as a great home decor piece.  That's what originally drew me to these lamps... I love the beautiful colors, especially when the lamp is lit at night.  Each piece is one-a-kind and rage in all shades of amber and orange that give off a gorgeous glow.

What do they do?
Here's the power of these lamps!  I hope you're ready for this because I was surprised and here are some of the benefits:

*Improves air quality
*Reduces the risk of asthma, allergy and immune deficiency problems.
*Minimizes the effects of all radiation, pollution and smog from the air.
*Removes and destroys viruses and airborne bacteria to prevent seasonal illness.
*Reduces the effects of allergies to dust, pollen and pets.
*Aids sufferers of headaches, insomnia or general fatigue.
*MY FAVORITE: Claims to balance and levels of serotonin, which is a chemical in the brain that's associated with anxiety and mood stress that can lead to people feeling more alert, stable and energized.

The lamp lit during the day.  Very pretty, but even better at night!

Where can I find them?
As I mentioned earlier, the lamp was gift and is from Woodland Creek Furniture.  I've been wanting one of these lamps for awhile and also found them on Amazon (find them here).  They're made in a variety of sizes and shapes, so the larger and heavier the lamp, the more it will cost.
