LOVE FOR 5 - November Favorites 2016

Hello, everyone!  We're already at the end of November, so I wanted to bring you my round of monthly favorites and share a new format.  That being said, I introduce to you LOVE FOR 5 :)

Each month I will chat about my Top 5 most used and beloved items, so if you hear me talk about something I REALLY love it!  There will be a blend of beauty, home goods, style pieces and anything else in between.

I hope you like this idea!  Lets hop in!

Starting with my top beauty products, I have a nice sampling.... a bit for hair, body and lips!  Although I love beauty products, I'm also very simple and crave quick products and these are just that.

1.  The Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Overnight Perfector (find it here) is pure magic in a bottle... FOR ONCE a hair product that does EXACTLY what it claims!  My favorite way to use this is in towel tried hair after showering and it works wonders.  I always let my hair air dry and this keeps my hair so soft, smooth and manageable.  It lasts in my hair for days!  Great for anyone that loves being minimal with their hair.  Side note-- this product even replaced my It's a 10! Leave-In -- yes, it's that good!!

2.  Next I have my current favorite body butter: Tree Hut Shea Body Butter Almond & Honey (find it here).  This little tub is the BEST scented, creamy butter I have ever smelled!  I don't know what it is but it smells so darn good!  This is another great product to use after hopping out of the shower and it keeps my skin so moisturized.  Definitely a winter beauty must-have!

3.  Now, I can't come on here without sharing a lip balm.. I may not be a huge lipstick wearer, but I have a special place in my heart for a good lip balm.  Nivea Lip Butter Raspberry Rose Kiss (find it here) has been the latest staple.  I keep this on my bathroom counter and use it morning/night at the end of my skincare.  It's a great formula and I love the pale pink shade!

Last two items are simply delicious and for the home.

4.  On days I need an extra nudge, I make coffee and no coffee is the same without this perfect fall creamer.  International Delight Pumpkin Pie Spice is the definition of coziness and I can really taste the pumpkin, spices and whipped topping.  I'm gonna be so sad once it's gone for the season!  I better stock up now!

5.  Lastly, I have the main reason my apartment consistency smells like a fresh bakery and that would be a huge thanks to Bath and Body Works Wallflower Refills in Marshmallow Fireside.  The key notes are toasted marshmallow, smoldering woods and fire roasted vanilla.  They're completely tasty and refills last 4-5 weeks... can't beat that!

What are some of your favorites this month?  Let me know down below :)

I hope you enjoyed.  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  As always, thanks for stopping by :)  Have a great day!  Talk with you soon!

What I Eat in a Day - Thanksgiving Day Edition! 11/24/16

Hello, everyone!  Happy Saturday :)  I hope you all had an amazing food filled Thanksgiving!  I definitely did and I wanted to share it with all of you.

I was inspired by one of my favorite lifestyle bloggers, Anna Saccone who frequently she does "What I Ate Wednesday" where she blogs about all the food she ate that day.  I love food and they're always a fun read.  Plus it's a great way to find new food ideas!

Considering Thanksgiving is basically the #1 food holiday of the year, it was only fitting to start on a strong note!  So if you're a bit nosy like me, I hope you like this idea too!

Starting off with breakfast, I stuck with my go-to quick meal which includes coffee and Chocolate Peanut Butter Zone Perfect Nutrition Bar.  These bars are my FAVORITE and I prefer them much more than Luna or Cliff.. they're that good!  As for my coffee, I'm currently drinking 100% Columbian Coffee from Kirkland Brand with a dash of french vanilla creamer.

We planned for an early dinner, so we skipped lunch.  Paul pan seared Prime New York Strip Steaks.  My steak was HUGE, so I only ate half.  For sides, I made classic green bean casserole and loaded baked potatoes with King's Hawaiian Butter Rolls.  My very not-so-fancy ass drank orange pop! No shame!  (I know, no turkey but we wanted something a bit different!)

Now onto one of the best parts... DESSERT!  Our dear friend brought an amazing apple pie and vanilla ice cream.  We warmed up the pie in the oven and the combo was perfect!  Plus lucky me, she gave us the leftovers.  Haha I may be in trouble ;)

Lastly we ended the night some much needed caffeine!  This time Paul made us lattes and mine was pumpkin spice :)  I almost forgot to snap a picture, that's why it's almost gone!  So sorry-- bad blogger!!  But I promise you, it was delicious!

There you have it!  Everything I ate on Thanksgiving :)  Would you like to see more What I Eat in a Day posts?  Please let a girl know ;)

I hope you enjoyed.  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  As always, thanks for stopping by :)  Have a great day!  Talk with you soon!

RECIPE: Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Hello, everyone!  I hope you're all having a great week so far :)  Can you believe that Thanksgiving is only two days away?  Where the hell did the time go?!

For today's post it's all about the special canines in our lives... I will be sharing my Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats Recipe.  It requires only four ingredients and you can easily customize them with different cookie cutters.  I used little pumpkins and ghosts because lets face it-- my halloween soul couldn't resist and I'm not ready for winter just yet!

Lets get to baking!  NOTE:  You'll probably have some "assistance" in the kitchen.  Haha I always do ;)  Thanks Aurora

Ingredients

1 banana - peeled & mashed
1/2c peanut butter -- I used Jif Natural Creamy
1/3c Plain Chicken Stock
1c Flour

Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350F degrees

2.  Mix all ingredients together.  It helps to mash the banana first then blend with the other wet ingredients and stir in the flour last.

3.  Once your dough has formed, roll out on a clean floured surface.

4.  Use cookie cutters of your choice and place treats on cookie sheet
(no oil or cooking spray needed)

5.  Bake for 13-15 until the edges are golden brown.  Let cool and surprise the pups!

My Malamute adores these "cookies" (treats are always known as cookies in our house) and they are definitely Aurora approved!  I'm very lucky that she puts up with me and is very photogenic!  Haha don't worry her hard work was rewarded :)

TIP:

Since these treats are homemade, it is best to store them in the fridge and they last for about two weeks.  If left on the counter, they should be eaten within 3-5 days.

I wouldn't be me without my animals, so it was only right to have a dog themed post!  I hope you liked this idea :)  I love to spoil my babies when I can!  Any other crazy animal lovers out there?!

I hope you give this recipe a try!  Please let me know if you down below.  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  Thanks for stopping by :)  Talk with you soon!

RECIPE: Spiced Cranberry Cider Crockpot Edition!

Hey everyone!  Happy Saturday :)  Today's post is one of my FAVORITE fall drink recipes: Spiced Cranberry Cider.

This is such a simple but delicious recipe that is made in the Crockpot or Slow-cooker.  An added bonus, you only need 5 ingredients!  This is a great cozy drink to make on a chilly day and it makes your home smell amazing as well... no candle can recreate it, I promise you!  Let's get into it!

Ingredients:

8 c. 100% Apple Juice (or an entire 64oz bottle)
4 c. 100% Cranberry Juice
1 tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
2 Cinnamon Sticks
1-2 Fresh Oranges, Sliced - for garnish

Directions:

Add all ingredients (except oranges) in cooker and stir
Set slow-cooker for 4 hours on high

Serve:

I love serving this drink in stemless wine glasses with a slice of orange on top -- oranges are optional but worth it!  The citrus accents the cider so well :)

I hope you give this recipe a try!  Please let me know if you down below!  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  Thanks for stopping by :)  Talk with you soon!

Scents of the Month - November 2016 - NEW SERIES!

Hello everyone!  Today's post is a new monthly series, Scents of the Month.  I absolutely LOVE candles and all things cozy... so why not create a segment devoted to just that?!

Each month I will be sharing all the candles and home fragrance that I am using during that month.  I'll give my mini reviews and scent notes for everything.

I live in a 2-bedroom loft style apartment that is around 1200 sq ft.  I love for my place to smell nice, but not over the top.  Typically on the first floor there are two wallflower plugins, one candle in the bathroom and one in the living room.  Then only one candle in our loft bedroom upstairs.  So to sum it up, 2 wallflowers and 3 candles are in use on average.  Just to give you an idea!

Starting with the Bath & Body Works Wallflowers... which side note, why didn't I own these sooner?!   They're amazing!!!  Since these are kept only on our first floor, I always use the same scent in each.

First Floor:  Wallflowers in Marshmallow Fireside which is a blend of toasted marshmallow, smoldering woods and fire roasted vanilla.  I NEED this again!!  Highly recommend this one :)  This scent as quickly become a favorite and I want more!!

Living Room:  Candle-lite Company Cinnamon Pecan Swirl
This is our FAVORITE candle of the month!  It's kept on our breakfast bar, so we can easily smell it in the kitchen and living room.  It smells just like cinnamon rolls with roasted pecans on top.  Delicious!!!

First Floor Bath:  Candle-lite Company Pumpkin Nutmeg Pie
Another great scent for the month... doesn't burn as perfectly as Cinnamon Pecan Swirl but this still good.  You can really smell the baked pumpkin and spices!  The smell lingers for a long time too :)

Loft Bedroom:  Candle-lite Company Juicy Black Cherries
Now onto the dud of the bunch.... :(  I love cherry ANYTHING, but not this guy!  This candle doesn't burn evenly and the jar keeps getting full of soot.  EVEN though I trim the wick each time!  Such a bummer!  Also I can barely smell it.  I wonder if I got a bad patch?

What candles are you burning this month?  Anything I should try?!

I hope you like this new series idea!  Let me know down below :)  Feel free to follow my site for future posts!  Thanks for stopping by.

Lots of Love,

Richelle

Tea Tuesday November - Yogi Vanilla Spice Perfect Energy Tea Review

Hi everyone!  Welcome back to another Tea Tuesday :)

Since we are officially into fall and the weather is finally acting like it  (well MOST of the time... I do live in Michigan!)  I wanted to share a more cozy tea that would pair well with the season!  I chose Yogi Vanilla Spice Perfect Energy Tea (find it here).

Please note: This post contains affiliate links through Magic Links.

November's tea is a repurchase and definitely a favorite!  This caffeinated tea has a blend of Organic Green Tea and Organic Assam Black Tea, which makes for a great pick-me-up throughout a long day.  The Organic Vanilla Bean and Organic Chai Spice create the perfect sweet and spicy flavor in each cup... even without extra sugar added!

Yogi's claims are it "energizes the body and focuses the mind".  I personally love to drink this while I am working or reading... it's just right.  The steep time is 4-6 mins and you can reuse the tea bag once.  It tastes sweet on its own, but of course a scoop of sugar adds to the sweetness factor.  I really enjoy everything about this tea!

What teas are you drinking?  Please share... I would love some suggestions!

I hope you enjoyed and thank you for stopping by!  Feel free follow for future chatter by joining my site.. you wouldn't want to miss any new Tea Tuesdays now would you?!  I'll chat with you all soon :)

Lots of Love,

Richelle
