Tea Tuesday November - Teavana Lavender Creme Review

Hey, everyone!  Welcome back for another Tea Tuesday!  You may find this hard to believe, but this was the only tea left in my stash that I haven't reviewed.  Now that's a lot of tea!  Would you be interested in a post dedicated to sharing all my previous Tea Tuesdays?  Just let me know below :)

Moving onto November's pick, I chose Teavana Lavender Crème.  This was a gift from a friend and it came in this adorable 8 oz. floral printed tin.  It's a rooibos blend tea with cooca nibs, vanilla, cardamom and of course, lavender flowers.  Teavana has the caffeine rating a 1/4, making this a great choice for caffeine sensitive individuals.

1.5 tsp in the Perfect Tea Maker from Teavana .. before water.

I will be completely HONEST here and tell you all that I did not enjoy this tea.  In fact, my boyfriend and my best friend did not like it either.  The flavor is a bit all over the place and odd.

Many loyal readers already know, but I have reviewed A LOT of teas over the past 2.5 years.  In those dozens of reviews, I don't believe I've ever disliked a tea this much.  It's depressing!  I was very surprised, especially with this coming from Teavana.  This marks the first Teavana tea that I didn't like.

With that being said, I sent a sampling of the tea to my best friend in her latest box (she lives in another state and that's how I had her opinion) and her boyfriend LOVED IT! He enjoys milder teas and loved hint of lavender.

Obviously this comes down to taste and I'm not going to love every tea I try.  And that's okay!

During steep.. makes a nice amber color!

Ingredients:

Cocoa Nibs, Rooibos, Fig Pieces (Figs, Rice Flour), Cocoa Shells, Caramel Pieces (Sugar, Condensed Milk, Corn Syrup, Dry Whole Milk), Cardamom, Cardamom Seeds, Natural Flavour, Vanilla Pieces, Lavender Pieces, Marigold Petals.

Steep Info: Teavana's Recommends

205 degrees water temperature
1.5 tsp per 8 fl oz
5 minutes (steep time)

Here's the back of the tin :)

My friend purchased this tin at a Teavana location early fall.  It's no longer available online, but you may be able to find it in store.  I suggest calling first.

Now that this somewhat negative review out of the way, I will be passing this onto my best friend's boyfriend for him to drink and enjoy.  I've got plenty of tea, so there's no point in holding onto something I don't love!

That rounds up November's tea!  Although it wasn't my taste, you may enjoy it. What are some of your favorites?

I hope you enjoyed!  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  As always, thanks for stopping by :)  Have a great day and talk with you soon!

My Halloween Home - NIGHT EDITION!

Hey, guys!  Happy Early Halloween :)  I posted my original My Halloween Home & Mini Tour last week and I wanted to create a Part 2: Night Edition.  This way, you can enjoy all the lighting and see everything in full night effect.  I hope you like this idea!  I'm a complete night owl, so this is when I enjoy it the most. I love hanging out down here!

I'm obsessed with the lights I added this year... thank you, Target-- you are amazing!  It's crazy how much a couple strands of lights can really glow up the room.  I never want to put them away!

Here we go!

Breakfast bar.. I love the purple lights and my salt lamp.
My favorite area of my living room! I love the fireplace, witch boots and our
halloween movie collection behind our mini skellie :)
Mr. Batty -- our resident night flyer!  He hovers above our hallway.
Our new orange lights above the door-wall to the balcony.
Final photo: here's our witch wall covering!  I love this piece and have it hung
on the loft wall.. you can see it from the living room below :)  Found this at
Dollar Tree-- no joke!!
That ties up another mini tour :)  How do you like to decorate your place?  What are your plans for Halloween?  Let me know below!

DIY Halloween Cards - Handmade Card Ideas!

Hey, guys!  Halloween is only a week away and I wanted to share my latest creations for the spooky holiday.  This is the first year I've made homemade cards and it was so much fun!  I watched The Purge and Purge 2 while I made these.. it was the perfect crafty-filled Saturday!

This blog post isn't going to be a tutorial but just a guideline for those that may be interested in card making themselves.  Here's some of the basic tools and supplies I used .. enjoy!

THE BASICS & TIPS

Here are the essentials that I used for each card.  I chose a kraft A7 blank card & envelope set (A7: 5"x7" size cards) and my new favorite glue: Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue.  Then you'll also want a pair of scissors, pen and ruler.

Above is all the fun stuff!  Use whatever you want to decorate!  I do recommend some scrapbooking paper so you can add more color to the background and I love the look of layered paper.  I also have loads of stickers, washi tape, paper doilies and other embellishments.  You can easily find these items at Michael's and Jo-Ann Fabrics.  Some of the stickers I even found at Dollar Tree!

FINISHED CARDS :)

Trick or Treat Card
Happy Halloween Skelton Card
Dia de los Muertos Card -- Day of the Dead Card .. I love this one!
Layered Happy Halloween Card with bats and a flying witch
Cute but Spooky Halloween Card

I loved making these cards and I can't wait to make more next year!  What crafty projects have you been working on lately?  Let me know down in the comments!  I would love to know what you're making :)

I hope you enjoyed!  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  As always, thanks for stopping by :)  Have a great day and talk with you soon!

My Halloween Home - Mini Decor Tour

Hey, everyone!  I hope you're all having an amazing October and Halloween Season :)  The time is going by way faster than I would like, but I'm making the best of it!  Although I haven't gotten to everything that I wanted, I did reach my goal of having my apartment decorated by October 1st.  Considering the crazy shit that we had the last month, I'm pretty happy about that!

With that being said, I figured I would share a Mini Halloween Decor Tour.  Paul and I live in a 2-bed loft style apartment, but we only decorate the main floor (living room, dining and kitchen).  I kept the decorations on the minimal side, which has been nice.  I hope you enjoy!  Let's get started!

Our kitchen table arrangement: I saved the wine bottle from Leelanau Cellar's
Witches Brew and added black roses. Then I have our beloved candy corn in a
stemless wine glass.

This is our furnace door right off the kitchen. I found
the "Witches Area" sign over the summer and I love it!

One of my Target Halloween towels that I hung in the kitchen from the stove.

I love this Halloween Creatures sign in the kitchen.  Plus my favorite seasonal
wine :)

My rose gold wooden skull sign... one of my favorite pieces I found at Target
last year!  I have this in our first floor bath.

Close up of our electric fireplace.. this is one of my top places to decorate for
the holidays!  I painted the canvas, which stays out all year.  The witch boots
are new from Marshall's and my fave new decor item.

The rest of the fireplace area.. I love our mini skellie dangling his legs of the
edge!  This is my favorite spot :)  We also keep all our spooky movies there.

GHOSTBUSTERS! Haha although we keep these legos out year round, I still
had to share them :)  They're my favorite legos and we keep them on the TV.

Here's one of my biggest steals of the season!  I found this wall hanging at
Dollar Tree and it's huge!  I attached it to the loft wall, so you can see it from
the living room.  It's very witchy and very me ;)

That rounds up our mini tour!  I hope to add even more next year :)  Top decor goals: Definitely make a large spooky wreath for the front door and get some cozy orange/black blankets!  What about you?

Did any of you decorate for Halloween this year?  Let me know below!

I hope you enjoyed!  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  As always, thanks for stopping by :)  Have a great day and talk with you soon!

Tea Tuesday October - Teavana White Ayurvedic Chai Review

Hey, everyone!  Welcome back for Tea Tuesday, but not just any Tea Tuesday... we've hit October.  Being a Halloweenaholic, October is a very magical month and therefore, required a very special tea to review.

This is the most amazing time of year -- in my opinion :) -- and I needed to chose a tea that fit the bill.  You know, crunchy leaves, chilly nights and glowing jack-o-lanterns... you know, the season of FALL kinda tea ;)

With that being said, I chose Teavana White Ayurvedic Chai Tea.  I wanted something sweet, something spicy and something warm.  This was perfect.

Teavana describes this as a "white tea + warming chai spices balanced by tropical coconut + pineapple".  I've always been a fan of white tea blends in general and the pairing with the chai is a nice twist.  I also love the addition of pineapple which gives a bit of sweetness.

A spoonful of honey is my favorite sweetener for this tea and it makes a wonderful drink on chilly days.  I definitely recommend!

I adore this very seasonal appropriate tea :)  The smell reminds me of fall.. very cozy and spicy!  I wish I could find this scent in a candle!

I really enjoyed October's tea and I hope you give it a go!  What are some of your favorites?

I hope you enjoyed!  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  As always, thanks for stopping by :)  Have a great day and talk with you soon!

LOVE FOR 5 - September's Favorites 2017

Hey, everyone!  Welcome back for another month of amazing products and new favorites.  I discovered some special items in September and wanted to share them!

Here's my Love for 5 :)

First, I wanted to share my newest fragrance love-- YSL Black Opium :)  This adorable mini has become my go-to scent and once it's gone, I DEFINITELY need a full size!  The key notes are Coffee Accord, Orange Blossom, Cedarwood Essence and Patchouli Essense.  I've never had a signature scent, but I think I finally found it!  It's the perfect blend warm and spicy.

Here's a skincare must-have!  I've always adored Mario Badescu's Original Rosewater Facial Spray, but I actually love this one even more!  It's a very soothing and I love to use it as a toner before moisturizer.  I also love the smell!

Onto this drugstore gem.. say hello to my FAVORITE lipstick!  I'm not a fan of regular lipstick (I love tinted balms & matte liquid lipsticks!) but Revlon Black Cherry is the exception :)  Just tapping the color to create a tint is the main way I use it but of course, it's very buildable!

This is the most gorgeous nude polish!  I've worn it a couple times this month and I can't get enough of it!  The formula is amazing and very long lasting.

This is was recommended by my best friend and I'm so glad I got to try it!  This herbal tea has a sweet honey and orange flavor that's great before bedtime.  I need my own box!

There are my September Favorites!  What are some of yours?  Let me know in the comments!

Nails of the Week : Favorite Nude Polish!

Hey, everyone!  Here's Nails of the Week, featuring my favorite nude polish of all-time.  I love writing these nail posts and figured I was long overdue!  I kept things pretty simple... my favorite nail looks always are :)

For this manicure, I started with OPI Barefoot in Barcelona which is definitely the sole reason for this post.  I never thought my fair skin would suit nude polish, but that was until I found this gem.  Two coats were more than enough to create an opaque wash of color.  It's the perfect nude... not too light or yellow-based and very flattering.

Then to top it off, I sealed the darling nude with my most used top coat.  Essie Gel Setter Top Coat has been a long time love.  It leaves my nails protected with a nice shine.

4 Days Later... no chipping whatsoever! Such a great polish :)
Those are my nails of the week!  What's your current mani?  Let me know below :)

Tea Tuesday September - TAZO Green Ginger Tea Review

Hey guys!  I can't believe we're already in September and it's time for our monthly tea review!  Tea Tuesday is my longest running series and I love sharing new teas :)

For September I chose TAZO Green Ginger Tea.  Green tea is one of my favorite types of teas and I love the hint of ginger and lemon.  This isn't a tea I drink daily, but it's perfect when you're feeling under the weather.

Please note: This post contains affiliate links through Magic Links.

TAZO describes "this bright green tea blend has a kick from ginger & a sweet note of pear".  I can't say I can taste any pear, but there's a subtle sweet flavor that pairs well with a spoonful of honey.

Like I said, I prefer to drink this tea when I'm sick since ginger is known for calming an upset stomach and can help with any bloating.  Plus, honey added to any tea soothes a sore throat.  This is a must-have during cold season!

SIPPING DETAILS

Ingredients: Green Teas, Natural Flavors, Ginger and Lemongrass
Steep Time: 3 minutes

I really enjoyed September's tea and I hope you give it a go!  What are some of your favorites?

I hope you enjoyed!  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  As always, thanks for stopping by :)  Have a great day and talk with you soon!

LOVE FOR 5 - August's Favorites 2017

Hey, everyone!  The end of August is among us and it's time to round up my favorites!  This month my LOVE FOR 5 is dedicated to all beauty products, including some long time obsessions.  I hope you enjoy!  Let's hop in :)

MAC Heroine (left) & YSL Crushed Orange (right)
MAC's Heroine is the most gorgeous purple lipstick I've found.  It's the perfect shade of purple and I love the matte formula!  It's long wearing and not over drying on the lips... thank goodness!

2.  YSL Volupté Tint-In-Oil in Crushed Orange
The second lip favorite goes to this beauty... my most beloved lip oil from YSL.  This is so comfortable, gives nice wash of color and even leaves a beautiful watermelon tint that lasts for hours on the lips.  This doesn't leave my purse!  Now I want more!

Please note: This post contains affiliate links through Magic Links.

This is my holy grail for all the right reasons!  It's everything you wish for.. it lengths, lifts and adds amazing volume to each lash.  I don't even use an eyelash curler!

Here's one of the best masks in my collection.  I've tried many overnight masks and this is THE BEST.  It smells amazing and works wonders for dry skin!

I love all Hempz body lotions and this new limited edition verison is no exception!  The zesty scent is perfect for summer and I love the moisturizing and non-greasy formula.  It's been my most used lotion all season!

There are my August Favorites!  What are some of yours?  Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed!  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  As always, thanks for stopping by :)  Have a great day and talk with you soon!

PROJECT PAN - FINALE RESULTS - Finish 8 By Fall

Hey, everyone!  I hope you're all doing well :)  Welcome back for my Project Pan Finale : Finish 8 By Fall.  This was a 3-month challenge that ran June 1st - August 30th and involved 8 products.  If you're new to this pan, feel free to check out my previous posts linked below.

Back to the finale, here's how I did!  Out of the 8 products, I finished 5.  It's not perfect, but that's okay!  Here's the details...
What I emptied:

1.  Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Fragrance -- Really enjoyed this scent! Key notes are Violet, Sandalwood and Vanilla.  This was starting to expire, so I'm glad I was about to use it up.

2.  Nivea Raspberry Rose Kiss Lip Butter -- This is a great inexpensive lip butter... It's very moisturizing and you get a ton of product!  I would like to try other scents :)

3.  Alba Botanica Hawaiian Body Scrub -- I love the lemon scent in this scrub, but it is very oily and coarse so I don't think I would repurchase.

4.  Pacifica Wake Up Beautiful Sleepover Mask -- I ended up using this as a neck cream for the pan.  I originally enjoyed this but I prefer Origin's Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask a lot more.

5.  Pacifica Cactus & Kale Renewal Lotion -- This wasn't hydrating enough for my dry skin, but I do think people with normal or combo skin would enjoy this.

Please note: This post contains affiliate links through Magic Links.

What's left:

6.  Olay Ultra Moisture Outlast Body Wash -- I love this body wash and it's ALMOST gone! It's super creamy and also makes a great shaving cream.  This is especially amazing for winter.

7.  Calgon Ageless Bath Renewing Bath Pearls -- This was a biggest fail of the bunch and I have about 1/2 left.  I'll just continue to use this in future bath cocktails!  I love the scent!

8.  Smith's Rosebud Salve -- I used this as my main cuticle cream and it works very well for that purpose.  I have decided to toss this though; it's over two years old and needs to be replaced.

There's the scoop!  I love finishing off products and I'm glad I did this challenge.  Any products you're trying to use up?  Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed!  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  As always, thanks for stopping by :)  Have a great day and talk with you soon!

PROJECT PAN - UPDATE #1 - Finish 8 By Fall

Hey, everyone!  Long time, no post.  Life has gotten a bit hectic and I need to slow down on posting.    Be sure to follow me on Instagram - @richellespranger - for daily beauty posts.  It's so convenient and quick to post.  Gotta love Insta!

Moving onto today's post, I wanted to share an update on my Project Pan: Finish 8 By Fall.  We're at the halfway mark and definitely have some progress to share... here we go!

1.  Olay Ultra Moisturizing Body Wash
This is a great body wash that's super moisturizing.  It has a creamy texture that works well for shaving your legs and that's what I mostly use it for.  It's a large bottle and now I'm at 1/4 left.

2.  Calgoon Renewing Bath Pearls
I've only used this twice and definitely need to use it more.  I still have 2/3 left.

3.  Pacifica Wake Up Beautiful Mask
Almost done with this bottle!  I've been using this as a neck cream and it does the job. I have 1/4 left.

4.  Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose Kiss
Here's my main lip balm at the moment and I've made quite a dent!  I'm officially 3/4 done.

5.  Smith's Rosebud Salve
Goodness, not much to update on this tin.. there's just so much product and a little goes a long way.  I will continue to use it as a cuticle cream.. wish me luck!  1/3 left.

Alright -- onto what I finished!  I completed a total of 3/8 items and I'm pretty happy about that :)  The three products are Pacifica Cactus & Kale Water Lotion, Alba Botanica Hawaiian Body Scrub and Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Perfume.  Not bad for half way through the challenge!

I will post the finale results at the end of August/ early October.

There's the scoop!  Anyone like to join me?  Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed!  Feel free to follow my site for future posts.  As always, thanks for stopping by :)  Have a great day and talk with you soon!
