Art & Office Supplies Declutter Update #2 - Hello Minimalism Series

Hello, everyone!  It has been over month since my original art supply declutter, so I thought it would be wise to do it again.  I'm a very DIY and crafty person, which is why I have so much stuff.  Unfortunately, it still seems like a bit much and it's hard to make time for it all.  Time for Round 2!

BEFORE: The Current Stash

Here's a real view of the current situation.  There is a total of 4 storage containers, clear bag and my sewing machine (I forgot to show in my first post).  The bulk is my sewing machine, office supplies, paints, random craft supplies and items for my etsy shop.

Since my last declutter, I have decided to give away my sewing machine.  My minimalist side says, YES but my practical side was making me question myself.  In the end, I have decided to let it go.  Something is broken inside it and sewing is my least favorite craft.  I have no regrets and it was time to clear it out.

Same as my previous declutters, the process hasn't changed.  I bring all the items to one area and begin emptying everything out to be sorted.  Once the sorting/decluttering is done, I reorganize.

AFTER:

Here's the after!  The left is my keep pile and the right is for donation.  It feels SO GOOD to slim down the supplies again.  This is one of the hardest areas for me to declutter, so this is still a work in progress.  A goal in the future, would possibly be for everything to fit in the large teal tote.  I love that organizer and it holds art stuff perfectly.  We will see.

When it comes to hobbies, it can be hard to really be honest with yourself.  I was finally honest with myself and passed along my sewing machine.  There's no point in holding onto things that you no longer use or enjoy (or not work at all!).  I find it a bit stressful when I have too much and I end up using none of it.  I want to get to the place that I only keep select pieces that I actually make the time for.  This is something I am still working on.

That brings us to the end of another declutter update :)  How are you doing?

Missed my first clean-out?  Here it is: Art & Craft Supplies Declutter - Hello Minimalism Series
